Coming soon
Lichtung for iOS v1.2 (TestFlight beta)
- A new Words button in the reader lists every word in the book by how well you know it. Switch between the whole book, so far, this chapter, and words you looked up; tap a word to see where it appears and jump straight there, or change its status right from the list.
- Selecting text no longer turns the page: dragging a selection to the edge used to flip pages or leave you stranded between two.
- Pro status is now checked at launch, so a cancelled subscription ends on its expiry date even if you never open the Languages or More tabs.
- Reading-session length (in rough buckets, never exact times) is now part of the optional analytics. Turn it off in Settings › About.

Web Reader for LingQ v1.16.6
- Fixed: scrolling the definitions list in the popup no longer closes it (v1.16.6).
- Fixed: dragging on the popup no longer scrolls the page behind it (v1.16.6).
- Fixed (iOS reader): swiping on the popup no longer turns the page underneath it (v1.16.6).
- A fresh install now asks you to pick a language instead of defaulting to German; existing installs keep whatever they’re already using (v1.16.4).
- Signing in auto-selects the LingQ language you know the most words in, or lets you choose if you don’t have one yet (v1.16.4).

Lichtung for iOS v1.1
- No longer defaults to German: until you pick a language, the Browser tab opens Wikipedia’s language portal, and importing a book or using the Safari popup asks you to choose one. Signing in to LingQ picks the language you know the most words in, or lets you choose.
- Finishing a book now shows a Book Summary: new words then and now, known words gained, time spent, lookups, and what to read next. Mark a book Finished or Unfinished from the ••• menu.
- Tapping once at the end of a chapter marks its new words as known, with 30 seconds to undo.
- Reading Insights now shows an estimated CEFR level (e.g. “About B1”) and how many known words to the next one, and celebrates leveling up.
- Fixed: Arabic and Hebrew words with vowel marks no longer show known words with the wrong status in Safari (e.g. فيها and فِيهَا).
- New onboarding pictures and clearer wording throughout.

- Invisible formatting characters (soft hyphens, bidi marks, Hindi joiners) no longer make a word look unknown (v1.16.1)
- LingQ’s own website (lingq.com) is now turned off by default in “Off on this site” (v1.16.0).
